If you are a university student based in Johannesburg (events are held in Johannesburg) and you are considering entering the financial sector after the completion of your studies, then joining and registering to become a FIDS Member is for you.
University students are able to join our organization and take a proactive stance in their own development by becoming FIDS Members. As students, this is done by registering to become a FIDS Member at no cost to you aside from the time and dedication to your own personal growth and development.
Why Join?
So why would I become a FIDS Member?
As a student, you will probably ask yourself at least one of these questions at some point in time before you graduate.
•Which jobs in and around finance could I apply for when I graduate?
•What are some of the graduate, internship and other development programs out there for me?
•What does someone in a specific career or industry really do?
•Which professional qualification or professional body would compliment my career choice and what are the differences between them?
•What can I do now as a student to make myself more employable in the future?
•How can I interact with established professionals working in the financial sector?
•What advice do these established professionals have for me as a student?
We aim to help our student members answer questions like these through FIDS. We believe that there are a number of ambitious, driven and knowledge-hungry students actively seeking this kind of information on an ongoing basis. We also firmly believe that we have a great platform that provides access to some of the answers to these questions through our organization.
Becoming a member
The criteria for FIDS Membership
– You must be a university student studying either a postgraduate or undergraduate degree at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
– You must be based in the Gauteng region
– You should be interested in entering a career that is in or related to finance, as those are the types of companies and opportunities that we focus on.
